Overview

ReadToMeNow ("we", "our") is committed to protecting the privacy of children and families. This app is designed for children ages 4-8 and complies with COPPA (Children's Online Privacy Protection Act).

What We Collect

• Camera images: Used only for real-time text recognition (OCR). Images are processed on-device and are NOT stored, uploaded, or transmitted to our servers.
• Text extracted from books: Sent to our AI service for explanation and pronunciation. We do not store this text after processing.
• App usage data: Anonymous usage statistics (pages scanned, features used) to improve the app. No personally identifiable information is collected.

What We Do NOT Collect

• Photos of children or faces
• Names, email addresses, or personal information from children
• Location data
• Contact lists or device identifiers

Third-Party Services

We use Anthropic (Claude AI) for text explanations and ElevenLabs for voice synthesis. Only the extracted text from book pages is sent to these services — no personal data, no images.

Data Storage

All app data (reading history, preferences, profiles) is stored locally on your device. We do not maintain user accounts or cloud storage.

Parental Controls

Parents can delete all app data at any time through the app's settings or by deleting the app.

Advertising

ReadToMeNow contains no advertising. We do not share data with advertisers.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as we add features. Material changes will be communicated through the app.
